So... who are we!

We're Whitney (left) and Gina (right), a pink haired best friend duo since 2007 after meeting at one of Whitney's notorious house parties!

Fast forward 10 years when Boho Utopia began as a brainwave; Whitney was working long hours in a job she hated, and Gina had just finished her Foundation Art & Design Course so we decided to began pursuing a life that would give us the freedom and happiness we wanted! After doing a lot of research and working out, we knew Manchester (& the world) needed a coffee shop like Boho Utopia and in January 2016 we launched a crowdfunding appeal to raise the money we needed to open, and with the generosity of friends, family and strangers we managed to raise enough money to open our doors in April 2016.

We wanted to create a space that left our customers feeling uplifted and happier, a space for creating, a space to play board games with family, a space to catch up with old friends, a space for cute dates, a space to escape and relax, a space for making new friends, a space completely free of judgement; a space that feels like home.

We are lovers of coffee, chocolate, carbs, chilling out and charity shops... and this is an ethos that runs strongly throughout the shop. Most of our furniture was bought locally from Withington's many charity shops, and we have all sorts of trinkets and games and books for customers to enjoy whilst in our shop!

We are open every day except Tuesday (we hope to extend our opening hours massively over time, please bear with us on that one!!), serving breakfast/brunch/lunch all day. Our utopia room is a haven where we hold plenty of events and workshops, including yoga, film screenings, creative writing classes, life drawing, reiki healing sessions, meditations and can host private or public parties or even be hired as a private cinema!

Downstairs isn't short of activities either, our community table is open all day every day to sit and get lost in one of our art therapy sketchbooks or to have a chat with a stranger if you need someone to talk to for a while, as well as our other events and workshops, such as open mic nights, tie dye workshops, quiz nights, art and craft fairs, public or private parties and more!

Overall, people describe Boho Utopia as:

A home from home, friendly, welcoming, unique, peace, heaven on earth, a hippy's haven, home goals, the perfect atmosphere to cure any bad day, a sanctuary, just right.
